Medical gas systems
We install oxygen and medical air pipework from the gas supply plant to the bed head units, to ISO 7396-1. Every line is tested and documented before it is concealed.
At Grensás we installed the oxygen and medical air pipework in a new rehabilitation unit, together with an area valve service unit with pressure alarm.
The process
How we work
Materials and method
Copper tube to EN 13348, cleaned for medical gas. Material approval for each item of equipment and an approved method statement before work starts.
Installation
Mains from the gas supply plant, an area valve service unit with pressure alarm and isolating valves, and branches to the bed head units.
Testing
Pressure and leak testing with nitrogen before the pipework is concealed, purging of the pipework and testing of the alarm function.
Handover
A test report for each system, a system schematic, an instruction sheet in the plant room and a chapter in the building manual.
The gas supply plant, testing of gas identity and quality at the terminal units and commissioning of the system are carried out by others on behalf of the client. We hand over the pipework tested and documented for that work.
Records
The records stay with the systems
We compile test sheets, balancing reports and as-built drawings to each project's requirements.
