A 172-room hotel in the heart of Reykjavík calls for piping systems that can take the constant demands of hospitality. Rennsli is delivering the hotel's plumbing as a subcontractor to Ísfast, from domestic water and drainage to sprinkler systems, on a BREEAM-certified project.
From challenge to certified handover
The challenge
A hotel places a dual demand on the work: the systems must meet strict fire-protection standards and the project's BREEAM requirements, while at the same time disappearing quietly into the guest experience. With 172 rooms, there are a large number of connection points, every one of which has to pass testing.
Approach and delivery
Rennsli is installing the hotel's domestic water, drainage and sprinkler systems in close cooperation with the main contractor and site supervision, with material approvals and testing to the specification. The installation of sanitary fixtures and bespoke solutions follows the fit-out progress floor by floor.
Handover and traceability
The systems are tested and documented as each work package is completed, with pressure testing and submissions into the project's BREEAM documentation, so that the hotel's handover rests on full traceability.
